Mr. Spencer served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had lived in Vandalia, IL then settled in Bethalto for 6 years recently returning back to the Nashua area. He had worked for over 30 years for the Public Works Department for the Town of Merrimack, NH, retiring in 2005 as its Assistant Director of Public Works. Mr. Spencer was an avid car collector and car enthusiast. With his wife Lillian, they spent many wonderful days traveling in their motorhome visiting different car shows. He was also a member of the Gate City Corvette Club for several years. Mr. Spencer really had a love and appreciation for his family and loved spending time with them and his beloved dog; Bear.
A loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed he is survived by his wife of 37 ½ years; Lillian (Gaudette) Spencer of Milford, two daughters; Sharon Saucier of Hollis, NH and Debra Spencer of Colorado, eight grandchildren; Michael, Christopher, David and Steven Saucier of Nashua and Ashley, Bryce, Sarah and Ryan. He is also survived by his Aunt Edna and a large extended family in Illinois.
Visiting hours were held Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10:00 am Friday in St. Louis de Gonzague Parish, 48 W. Hollis St., with interment following in St. Louis de Gonzague cemetery, 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua
