Helen “Connie” Morrison Jowdy, 83, of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2022. Born on July 11, 1939 in Danbury, CT, she was the daughter of the late Howard G. and Helen (Kolwicz) Morrison.
Connie grew up in Danbury, CT and graduated top of her class at the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing. She had a successful career as a Registered Nurse and spent many years at the Danbury Hospital and then later at a local dermatology office until her retirement. She was a longtime volunteer of the Congregational Church thrift shop in Connecticut and New Hampshire.
Connie loved spending time with and caring for her family. She loved to travel with her husband Donald, family and friends, and cheering on her children and grandchildren while they played sports. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, and decorating. She is remembered as a kind, loving and strong woman who always made others feel welcomed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Donald J. Jowdy; daughters Susan (Jowdy) McKinley and her husband Keith of Nashua, NH, Beth (Jowdy) Sheehan and her husband Todd of Weare, NH; son Donald R. Jowdy and his wife Christine of Tampa, FL; grandchildren Patrick McKinley and his wife Liz, Brian McKinley and his wife Victoria, and Brandon Sheehan. She is predeceased by her brother Robert Morrison, niece Linda (Morrison) Marquis, and several closest friends.
