Harold C. Fater, Jr., 90 of Nashua, NH, died Saturday, March 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Harold was born on January 8, 1933 in New York City, NY to Harold Charles and Julia Mary (Shine) Fater.
Harold was known as Pete to most. He had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a pun. He was an avid golfer and gardener who also enjoyed bird watching. He was a very proud Navy Veteran and patriotic American who cherished his family and his faith in God. He was a very active and generous parishioner of the Parish of the Resurrection R.C. Church of Nashua, NH.
He spent most of his career in Sales and Quality Control of building materials cement, crushed stone and other aggregates. He was married to Gloria M. Fater for over 52 years and together they had 7 children.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Gloria and their twin children Harold and Gloria and his sisters Helen G. Broda and Mary J. Fater. He is survived by his sisters Marjorie Gill and Julia Waters and his children Jean Ann Fater and her husband Paul Villani; John Anthony Fater, Diane Griebe, Maria Wisbeski, and her husband Henry, and the Longfellows; as well as his grandchildren: Rebecca and Benjamin Headley, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Leo Wisbeski, great granddaughter: Emmalee Miller and many loving nieces and nephews and in-laws.
The Fater family would like to thank the caregivers at St. Joseph’s Hospital and The Lahey Hospital and all those who offered prayers and support to our family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to some of Pete’s favorite charities that include Boys Town, Marguerite’s Place, Inc., The Wounded Warrior Project, and the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter.
A visitation for Harold will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley Street, Nashua, New Hampshire 03060. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St, Nashua, New Hampshire 03063.
