Born on October 6, 1945 in Fitchburg, MA, he was the son of the late Inez McDowell & step father Herman McDowell.
Ed grew up in Pepperell, MA and graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School. Ed was employed by Market Basket for over 30 years where he worked as a meat cutter until his retirement. Ed was a member of Lone Pine Hunters Club in Hollis, NH & Westford Sportsmen’s Club in Westford, MA. Ed was both an avid hunter and fisherman. Ed enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado and won the Winnipesaukee Fishing Derby one year. Ed enjoyed bird hunting with his Brittany Spaniels, he loved his Sadie, Sierra and Kodie. Most of all Ed loved his time spent with Marilynn, whether it be traveling, dinners at the coast, or their drives exploring back roads and wildlife.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marilynn (Greene) Kelleher. In addition to his wife he leaves a sister Cathy Spaulding and husband Terry, a brother Connie Kelleher and wife Trish and brother-in-law Stanley Greene. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his sister Anne Matthews and brother-in-law Steve, his brothers Steve Kelleher and Dan McDowell, and sister-in-law Toni Greene.
There will be a Graveside Service for Ed on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 61 Pine Hill Road, Nashua, NH 03060 at 9:30a.m.
