E. Rita Whigham, 85, of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Rita was born in Groton, MA on April 8, 1939. She was the daughter of the late William and Medora Marcouillier. She grew up in the Groton, MA – Forge Village area and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsboro, MA.
She was the wife of the late James I. Whigham, who passed away August 19, 2024. She was married to him for 66 years and would have celebrated their 67th year on August 31st.
Rita worked for Digital Equipment Corp. until her retirement. After her retirement she worked part time as a bank teller and was a lunch monitor for the Nashua School District.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her free time, she liked to go square dancing, go out to listen to country music with friends and bowl every Monday in a league. She also loved going to Disney with her brother and sister-in-law Leonell and Barbara Marcouillier.
Predeceased by her husband James, brothers Leonell and Robert Marcouillier and her sister Ann Veillette. She is survived by her three daughters Cheryl Clement and her husband Scott, Lisa Fernacz and her husband David and Wendy (Rubino) Nolan and her significant other Bill. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Matthew Clement and his wife Ashley, Samantha Cillo and her husband Mike, Mike Rubino, DJ Fernacz and his wife Jennifer, Patrick Clement and his wife Sarah and Benjamin Clement. Great grandchildren Lauren Clement, Ryleigh Clement, Evan Clement, Aubryanna Cillo and Anastasia Cillo and her brother Larry Marcouillier as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will take place sometime in the Spring/Summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of E. Rita Whigham to the Davita Kidney Care, 38 Tyler St., Nashua, NH 03060
