She was born in Nashua, NH on December 25, 1935, the daughter of the late Anthony and Caroline (Piwowarski) Zerba.
Caroline was a resident of Nashua for over 30 years. She was employed at Cabletron in Rochester for many years before her retirement. Caroline had a great passion for Elvis and has a vast collection of memorabilia. She loved Christmas, which was also her birthday and has an extensive collection of Christmas Villages that filled an entire room, including skaters, carolers, Santa’s, etc. Many of these collectibles were passed down to her by her mother, whom shared the same love for Christmas.
She is predeceased by a brother, Anthony Zerba and a sister, Catherine Ledoux.
She is survived by a son, Robert Varney of Antrim, NH; two daughters, Cindy Gourgue of Hampton, NH and Mary Ellen Varney of Allenstown, NH; two brothers, Ronald Zerba of Washington, NH and Daniel Zerba; five grandchildren, Amanda and Peter Gourgue, Kayla Leach, and Joshua and Cassidy Varney; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were held on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 4 PM to 8 PM at ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060. A Funeral Service was celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 10 AM. Burial followed at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Nashua.
