Barbara was born in Westfield, MA on June 18, 1938, the daughter of the late Annie J. and Carl T. Morris and step-daughter of the late Frank Parody.
Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Robert E. Rice on July 13, 1957. Together, they traveled to Colorado, Oklahoma, and then settled in Nashua, NH, where they lived most of their lives.
In her younger years, she was the treasurer of the Woman’s Club at St. Christopher’s Church and Parrish of the Resurrection. She was a Brownie Troop leader for many years and also took care of several babies while their mothers “found themselves”.
Barbara is survived by her three children Sherry and her husband Raymond Hagen, Michelle and her husband William Riley, Robert and his wife Janet Rice, her five grandchildren, Matthew MacQuarrie, Christopher Riley and his wife Kathleen Kirwin, Zachary Riley, Samantha Riley, Matthew Scott Hagen, her one great grandson, Tyler MacQuarrie, and her faithful companion, her Yorkshire Terrier named Christmas.
Her final words to all are “She loves you”.
As per Barbara’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services held. However, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in her honor can be made to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua and or the American Diabetes Association.
