

Born on February 19, 1937 in Boston, MA, to the late George J. Maloney and Florence (Seaverns) Maloney, Barbara graduated from Nashua High School in 1954. She was an avid roller skater, and competed nationally in the late 1950s. She met her husband, Paul, while skating with the High Hat Roller Skating Club in Lowell, MA. She worked at the Nashua Trust Company for almost two decades before changing careers to assist her husband, Paul, with his insurance and investment company. She was devoted to her immediate and extended family and, most importantly, to raising her daughters who were her joy and greatest accomplishments.
Barbara was a dedicated, long-time parishioner at the Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua where she served on the Finance Committee and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a very active parent in the PTA and other committees at the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, MA. She loved the theater, dancing, and traveling, and stayed active during her retirement. She was passionate about learning and loved to read. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Nashua Symphony as well as the Nashua Community Concert Series.
She is survived by her daughters Dr. Michelle M. Germain and her husband Dr. Joseph Pellegrini of Cornelius, NC, and Danielle M. Germain and her wife V. Radley Emes of Washington, D.C.; two grandsons, Alexander G. Pellegrini and Nicholas J. Pellegrini; and her sister, Sr. Joseph Marie (Florence) Maloney of Framingham, MA; and several generations of nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Paul J. Germain; brothers George J. Maloney and Leo F. Maloney; and her sister Mary Louise Maloney, all of Nashua, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 13 at 11am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road in Nashua. A private burial will follow on Tuesday, March 14 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA.
