Athena (Liamos) Feraios, 85, a longtime resident of Nashua, NH passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Laurel Place in Bedford, NH. She was born September 5, 1925 in Nashua, daughter of the late Apostolos and Evanthia (Thomaides) Liamos. She attended Nashua schools and was a graduate of Wilfred Academy of Hair and Beauty Culture. Athena was a longtime and well known Nashua hair stylist in her early years, owning Athena’s Beauty Salon. She was a member of St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church and the Ladies Society Agape. Athena loved her friends and family, especially her two grandchildren, Vanessa and Johnny. Athena had wonderful neighbors; Gloria and Paul Planchet, Paul Karawski and Cindy Martin as well as dear loving friends Mary Kenefick and Michele Rehberg.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years; John A. Feraios of Nashua, originally from Greece, a daughter; Kathryn B. (Feraios) Robbins and her husband Dana S. of Hollis, two grandchildren; Johnny and Vanessa Robbins, both of Hollis, two sisters; Olga (Liamos) Katsoupis of Nashua and Martha (Liamos) and her husband Charles Kokkinos of Manchester, NH. She is also survived by a sister in law; Lillian Liamos of Nashua, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brother; George Liamos and brother in law; Christopher Katsoupis.
A visiting hour was held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 9:00am until the 10:00am funeral service in St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W. Hollis St., Nashua. The burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W. Hollis St., Nashua, NH 03062. Kathryn would like to extend her thanks to Pilot Health, the care givers at Healthy at Home, especially Sheila Reagan and Mary Groeff, Care Ride Transportation, Alvirne Senior Center, staff members at Southern NH Medical Center and especially for the people who cared for her at Laurel Place in Bedford where she last resided.
