Tom was born in Leeds, Alabama near Whites Chapel to Lindsey and Jessie (Newton) Tice. He enlisted in the United States Air Force at age 18 and would serve as an Accounting and Finance Specialist in various locations such as Greenland, Japan, Taiwan, Hawaii, Texas, Washington and Florida. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of faithful service and lived the remainder of his life in Homestead.
Tom was a Christian/Southern Baptist, loved fishing, visiting Biscayne National Park, the Everglades, and enjoyed sitting in the back porch sipping his coffee and hearing the birds sing. He listened to Johnny Cash, Elvis and was a devout fan of his football teams (Alabama Crimson Tide and Miami Dolphins). He was known for his sense of humor, calm demeanor and his vast knowledge of trivia which he displayed with every episode of Jeopardy. But most of all, Tom will be remembered by his relentless devotion and love for his wife and extended family.
Tom is preceded in death by his sister Jane and brothers Delmar, Willard and Norman. He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years of marriage, Sheng and his 2 children, Edward (daughter-in-law Rachel) and Cary.
