"Dr. Joe" was the son of Joseph and Arline Laurer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Davis; one son; one stepson; two daughters; and five grandchildren.
Dr. Joe was an Economic Adviser, an avid golfer, and a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliarist, Flotilla 070-13-08. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Chapter 1572, located in Leisure City, FL. Dr. Joe was also very active in his community, serving on several boards, including the Homestead Pension Board and Gateway Animal Rescue. Dr. Joe was the current President of the Homestead Chapter of the AARP. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home, 27100 Old Dixie Highway, Naranja Florida 33032, 305-247-4218. Burial was Monday, May 19 at 11 a.m.
