Marie Ellen Cole

She was born on December 8th, 1920 to George and Hazel Miles in Findlay, Ohio. Marie worked at Marathon Oil Company, Cooper Tire, Findlay, Ohio and Western Union during WWII as a courier. In 1946 she married Harvey Cole, who passed away in 1980

Marie is survived by her daughter, Miriam (Ernest) Marksberry of Defiance; daughter Sharon (Joseph) Kirkham of Defiance; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Siblings: Ralph (Phyllis) Miles of Findlay, Ohio; Jerry (Judy) Miles of Van Buren, Ohio; Helen (Larry) Karch of Findlay, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel Miles. Siblings: Martha, Tom, Dale, Richard, George Jr, and Sarah. Husband Harvey Cole.

Marie’s heart was rooted in her family. She was a hands-on grandma, always willing to play a game of dominos or show you how to make your bed. More than that she was the bright shining smile in a room that always welcomed you home. Throughout Marie’s life she had constant companions in her daughter Miriam and son-in-law Ernie. Even though she is gone, her joy and kindness will live on in the heart of those who loved her.

A final committal will be held at 11:00 AM inside the mausoleum of Riverview Memory Gardens 29231 County Road 424, Defiance. Grandchildren Mellissa Depew, Dawn Kuhlman and Seth Kuhlman will be officiating.
