For his first 44 years, Tudor lived and worked in Mayfield, KY where he co-owned the Mayfield Planing Mill for 19 years. He was an active member of the First Christian Church, the local community, and served in the US Army. He was a KY Colonel and served as president of multiple civic and professional organizations including the KY Lumber Dealers Association and Lions Club. He was Executive Director of the KY Lumber Dealers Association for 12 years.
In 1965 he moved his family to Naples, FL and opened Jones Hardware Store on the newly-developing Marco Island. He continued his love of community involvement by serving as founding president of both the Marco Island and Gulfshore Rotary Clubs and was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow awardee.
He loved a good book, antique furniture restoration, painting and was an avid model train hobbyist. Some of his favorite activities over the past 7 years included visiting with his many friends and watching the eagles and wildlife that regularly visited the lake outside his home at Arbor Trace.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Ruth Emerson Jones; daughters, Sarah Evelyn Jones and Julie E. Jones Deuschle; son, Tudor Griffith Jones, III and his wife Linda; grandsons, Chase Brantley Deuschle and Charles Brandon Deuschle; brother, Henry C. Jones. Numerous nieces and nephews will also miss him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Barbara Jones Hartwell and Juliette Jones.
A celebration of his life will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday April 7, 2013.
