It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Susan Bailey Dunn-Simmons (Sue Bailey) who was born in Naples, Florida on November 6, 1961, to Margaret (Peg) Bailey and Elmer (Bogue) Bailey. She graduated from Lely High School as part of the Class of 1979. She was called home to God on October 26, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones after a beautifully lived life.
Full of love, laughter and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Susan, a free spirit with a heart of gold, held many titles in her life from yacht captain to birthing doula, but her favorite title of all being an adoring mother and grandmother. She is survived by her spouse; Thomas Simmons, children; Conor Dunn (Caroline), Egan Dunn and Fiona Dunn, grandchildren; Reis, Aisley, Aria, Gaia, Kaison, her mother; Margaret Bailey and three brothers.
To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens on Sunday, November 10th at 11:00am gathering of friends and family with a 1:00pm service to follow. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman.
