He grew up in Florham Park, NJ acquiring a passion for horticulture at an early age from his mother, Bev, as together they tended to their beautiful gardens. Scott loved to spend summers with his extended family at his grandparents’ beautiful home at Cape Vincent, NY on the banks of Lake Ontario. During early high school in NJ, Scott spent countless hours with friends and his older brothers, Craig and Mark, listening to and dissecting music, often taking the train into NYC to experience live concerts.
Scott followed his mother to Naples where he started high school and graduated Naples High School in 1977 before heading north again to study horticulture design at SUNY. He returned to Naples where he continued his education working for Naples Fertilizer and Garden Center eventually creating a local horticultural design TV/radio show where he was able to exhibit his infectious personality. Known as “The Plant Doctor”, he enjoyed an avid following.
He was a long time horticulturist and landscaping specialist in Naples, Florida and well respected among his peers in the industry. He was well-known for the many articles written for Mower Man magazine in reference to Southwest Florida plants and “Timely Tips”. He served many years at Wyndemere Country Club until going into business for himself. In 2003 Scott Lowery Landscape Inc was established.
He married his beautiful wife, Linda, on October 13, 2007. Scott loved to golf and hang out at the beach at his friend Dottie’s house in north Naples. We will miss him dearly.
