Sarah Elizabeth Jenkins, 88, of 2500 Jenkins Way, Naples, Fl. went to her earthly resting place on June 28, 2024. Sarah was born on March 9, 1936, to her parents Martha McIntosh and Everett Smith in Campton, Ky. Sarah was the wife of Wayne Jenkins for 40 Years.
Sarah was one of 11 children. She was predeceased by her parents Martha and Everett Smith, brothers: Marion, Clarence, Floyd, Johnnie & James. Sister, Carrie Napier. She is survived by brothers: Lloyd (Vicki), George ( Caroline). Sisters: Mary Napier and Laura Jo Raulerson (Paul).
Sarah was a loving mother to 5 children: Glenda Smith, Eloise Watson (Larry), Mark Spencer (Susan). Judy Hill and Lynn Spencer are predeceased. Sarah was an amazing Granny to 13 grand children, 23 great grand children, and several great, great grand children.
Sarah worked for several years for Ray Smith farms and Janet Smith Flowers. She owned Granny’s Hideaway restaurant in Golden Gate. She served in many officer positions including Auxiliary President of VFW Post 7721 And District president of the Auxiliary Rural Letter Carriers Association. Sarah also worked for many years assisting the Collier Sportsmen and Conservation Club from helping prepare and cook at the Swamp Buggy Races food booth, to providing swamp buggy rides to the public at the races. Her greatest pleasures were knowing and helping others.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd at 6:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until service time. She will then be transported to her hometown of Campton, Ky. for graveside services on July 12th at 12:00 noon in her family cemetery. Kentucky arrangements are under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home in Campton, Ky.
