He was born in Chicago on December 7, 1925. Bob graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1944. Bob had a band scholarship and played the clarinet.
Bob was the embodiment of all that his generation offered. He served his country during WWII and was assigned to the 41st Infantry Division from 1944-1946. Bob was involved in numerous assault landings in the South Pacific and performed occupation duties in Japan including in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Bob married his wife, Betty, on August 14, 1948. He is survived by his three sons: Robert Jr., William (Lucinda), and James (Karen). Betty passed away on October 13, 1995. He has three grandchildren;
Cheri, Rebecca and Johanna; and three great grandchildren. He married his second wife, Ellen, on February 14, 1998. Ellen passed away on March 12, 2022. Bob has five stepchildren: Joanne Mulinare, Ronald (Julie) Smith, Donald Smith, Jacquelyn Dorsett, and Kenneth Smith (Myra).
Bob was highly driven and a hard worker. He was the President of Moto HVAC in Chicago until his retirement in 1988. His successful company had a strong reputation for quality and service.
Bob was active with his children’s activities and was a Little League manager. Prior to moving to Florida, Bob enjoyed racing his Star sailboat, fishing, water skiing, playing tennis, bowling, woodworking, playing card games and other hands-on projects. He joined the Imperial Golf Club in 1989, was a Royal Member and served as an officer on their Board. Bob was very generous helping others with his time and talents. Bob was a die-hard Cubs fan and was fortunate to see them win one World Series in his lifetime.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs, FL. Interment will follow in Naples Memorial Gardens.

Bob always had a smile, a great sense of humor, high energy level, loved by all, and will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
