Richard Charles Sauer born November 25, 1926, in Detroit Michigan, passed away peacefully in Naples, Florida on December 24, 2022, at the age of 96. After losing his beloved wife, Lois Elaine Sauer, of 74 years on October 3, 2022, they are now reunited once again together for eternity; their fairytale love story will continue for many years ahead. Dick was a gentle, kind and extremely generous man who wanted nothing more than to provide for his family. He could light up any room with his witty remarks and funny personality that never seemed to subside. He was an honored veteran who served proudly in the United States Army in World War II. With his hard work, dedication, and persistent endeavors he became a successful businessman. As a hobby, there was never a day the stock market wasn’t scrolling across the screen. Dick was also an all-around athlete, walking every day until 95 years old. On top of walking multiple miles a day, he was an avid tennis player and golfer. His love for golf, and dedication to the game was exhibited with his incredible 6 hole in ones. He is survived by his sister Mary Ann, children: Sharon Prentice (Allman Todd), Steven (Colette Sauer), and Robert (Michele Sauer). He is pre-deceased by his loving parents Charles and Delia Sauer, brother Thomas Sauer, and son, James Sauer. He leaves behind 7 wonderful grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who were fortunate enough to benefit from his everlasting wisdom and observe an empathetic role model, who raised and loved his beautiful family. Richard Sauer will be missed, his infinite kindness and generosity, forever living on through the hearts of those he loved.
