Richard Charles Mosher, 56, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on June 4, 2020, after a fierce battle fighting brain cancer. Rick was comforted by the presence of his family at the time of his passing.
Rick was born in Rockford, Illinois, on August 16, 1963. He was the third child and the first son born to Ruby (Catron) Fuller and Richard ‘Dick’ Mosher.
He was an avid Chicago Bear and NASCAR fan, but his biggest lifelong passion revolved around ‘muscle cars”.. He was affectionately called a ‘gear head’ by friends and family. Rick attended school in Rockford, Illinois, and graduated from West High School in 1981. After finishing high school he moved to Naples, Florida, where he worked with his stepfather, Joe, as a professional Concrete Finisher. During his training for this trade, Rick developed a strong work ethic that he maintained and valued his entire life.
Rick’s love of cars evolved into participating in amateur ‘street’ racing. His pride and joy were his 71’ Monte Carlo, “Bowtie Bullet” and his current 69’ Chevelle Malibu, “Joyzi”. If he wasn’t working in concrete, he was endlessly working on his muscle cars. In between those tasks, anyone that knew Rick knew he was a pro at concocting the perfect Bloody Mary! He enjoyed locating a great Bloody Mary, with all the fixins, and posting them on social media, as well as his Bloody Mary Connoisseurs page.
Rick was known for his great sense of humor. You could always find Rick at a gathering he attended by just following the sounds of laughter. He was naturally outgoing and made friends wherever he went. Rick was loved and respected by friends and coworkers alike. He wasn’t just a friend, he was surrounded by friends who referred to him as ‘brother’. Cherished by his whole family, Rick’s nephews especially looked up to and admired him as their ‘cool’ Uncle.
Rick is survived by his mother, Ruby Fuller, his father, Richard ‘Dick’ Mosher, two sisters Lynn (David) Aurand and Pam (Doug) Matheson, three nephews Chad and Jacob Merrifield and Travis McCaslin, two nieces Olyvianna Matheson and Erin Horton, his best friend Jeff (Michele) Burbeck, and his beloved cat Mali.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joe Fuller, stepmother, Joy Mosher, and younger brother, Robert Fuller.
