Mary Carol Worley passed away on January 5th. She put up a valiant fight, but finally lost her battle with cancer and other health complications. MC was born in Richmond, KY on October 13th, 1952. She worked for the company her father started, Richmond Tool and Die which later became Continental Metal Specialties. She was part owner of Third Street Gallery, an interior design and gift shop in Richmond, and later worked for Hooker Furniture. MC’s love of horses began at a very young age and continued for many years. She was a board member of the Kentucky Dressage Association and dearly loved the horses she owned.
MC was best known for her fierce determination, love of animals and her compassionate spirit. Her smile was contagious and her compassion knew no bounds.
She was preceded in death by her parents Virginia and James Robinson, brother Robbie Robinson, uncle Billy Joe Phelps and cousin Glenn McCool.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Sam Worley, her stepson Jason Worley (Bethany), and their children Jayden, Jackson and Reese as well as her sister-in-law Barbara Brummett, beloved aunt, Mary Margaret Phelps, cousins Melanie McCool (Steve) and Bill Phelps, godson Brandt McCool (Eve), and their daughter, Ali McCool.
There will be a private graveside service at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avow Hospice Inc. (avowcares.org) and the National Breast Cancer Foundation (nationalbreastcancer.org).
