In loving memory of Mary Evelyn Guerrero, who departed from this world on April 13, 2024. Mary was born on August 31, 1949 in Nashville, Tennessee, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Mary was a Christ follower and professed His protection over her life to all she came in contact with, especially the nurses and doctors who cared for and provided treatment in her final days.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Nell William, father, Homer Burns, brother, Clarence Burns, all from Nashville, TN, and three cherished nieces.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by her three adoring sisters and two of the best brother-in-laws, her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Casey Carter of Estero, FL, her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Morgan and Brandon Oaks of Estero, FL, and her great-granddaughter, Alanna Oaks of Estero, FL, and six nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Mary found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially her love of the Kansas City Chiefs. She also treasured her time gardening and tending to her yard was a testament to her nurturing spirit and appreciation for the natural world around her. Her greatest joys were watching her granddaughter lead worship and her great-granddaughter praising the Lord.
Though she may no longer walk among us, her memory will forever bloom in the gardens of our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.
Interment will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
