Marlene Patton Rumer passed into God’s hand on March 23, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago Ill, to Michael M. Patton and Ruth Westman Patton on August 29, 1932. She graduated from Fairmont High School in Dayton, Ohio and went on to graduate Magna Cum Lude from University of Nebraska in 1973. She was a very successful Interior Designer and a Member of ASID. She worked for JC Penny’s Custom Decorating for over 20 years and retired from there at 65. She was an avid collector of art work, furniture and she always surrounded herself with beautiful things.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 40 years Thomas Barnett Rumer in 2009. She is survived by her son Rich S. Rumer of Scottsdale AZ (wife Mary), and daughter Lori Rumer Applegate of Bonita Springs FL (husband Mike), she has 4 grandchildren, Rikki Rumer Willis (husband Shone), of Apache Junction AZ, Angela Rumer-(Sky Watson) of Tempe, AZ, Brooks Rumer Applegate of Bonita Springs, FL and Chandler Patton Applegate of Bonita Springs, FL. A stepson, Jason Federico (wife Jeannette) of Murrieta, CA. She has a great, great granddaughter, Charlie Rumer Watson of Tempe AZ and great, great step grandson, Christian Federico of Murrieta, CA.
She will be interned in Westlawn Cemetery in Dayton Ohio this summer. In lieu of flowers contribution are appreciated to the American Cancer Society, she was a three time cancer survivor! She is now with God in his house and at peace.
