Marilyn I Montgomery, 75, died on Wednesday Nov 9 at her home in Naples, Florida. Marilyn was born in New York City, grew up in Glen Rock New Jersey and graduated from Duke University with a degree in economics and Tulane University with an MBA.
She worked for Allied Chemical/Allied Signal in multiple senior leadership positions for more than 25 years. Marilyn‘s last position was SVP, Materials Management for Engineered Materials. When retired, she enjoyed reading, playing tennis and bocce, traveling with her brother, Tom, and sister in law, Susie, and taking long walks with her beloved dogs, Waldo and Dudley, in Chatham, NJ, Brewster, MA and Naples FL. Marilyn was a kind and generous person and will be missed by all who knew her.
Marilyn was predeceased by her mother, Helen, and father, George. She is survived by her brother, Tom Montgomery (Susie), nephews, Cromwell (Sandra) and Barney (Connie), two great nephews and one great niece. She is also survived by her cousins, Russell (Marie) Brown, Jimmy (Karen) Brown and Bill (Bev) Hasselberger.
The family wants to thank the many friends who walked Dudley multiple times a day for months, who cooked food, who visited and who helped as her health advocate during her illness. They were all wonderful and most caring. We particularly thank Marie Brown and Gloria Keesee who drove her to her treatments and spent many a night assisting her.
