He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1953 where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He was awarded a full football scholarship to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He graduated with a B.S. and M.A. degree in Education. After graduation he taught physical education and history. He coached football, baseball and hockey at both North Muskegon High School and Mona Shores High School.
Lee and his wife, Shirley, moved to Naples in 1979 and he continued teaching at both Barron Collier High School and Pine Ridge Middle School.
Lee is survived by his wife, Shirley, his three sons, Leland (Dawn), Larand (Pam), Gregory (Marcia) and one son-in-law, John Walenta. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry. He leaves 10 grandchildren, Craig, Dana and Carey Williams, Loren, Joshua, Aly Burlingame, Matthew, Andrew and Anna David and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one grandson, Jason and one great-grandson, Gabriel.
Lee attended First Baptist Church and was escorted to heaven by the Angels to meet his heavenly Father on March 17, 2022.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 26th at 3:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens with a remembrance reception to follow.
