Ken was born in Philadelphia, PA to Samual Ellis and Sylvia Kolter Ellis on April 26, 1943. He graduated from Northeast High School [Philadelphia]. Ken married Deborah Smith on November 6, 1994 in Cherry Hill, NJ. He was a graduate of both Temple University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He began his career as a Pharmacist then later became an Anesthesiologist for 40 years before his retirement in 2018. His passions included power boating and flying airplanes – even building an amphibious plane to combine them both. He loved spending time with his many friends and family. He was involved in the local flying community and loved flying the Young Eagles with the Experimental Aircraft Association, and joining fly-ins with the Naples Pilots Association. He was also a member of the Quiet Birdmen.
Kenneth is preceded in death by Samuel Ellis (father), Sylvia Ellis (mother), Paige Ellis (daughter), James Smith (father-in-law) & Carol Smith (mother-in-law).
Ken is survived by Deborah Ellis (spouse), Children and spouses - Sheldon (son) and Michelle Ellis, Adam (step-son) and Jennifer Bussey, Brian (step-son) and Lindsay Bussey, Arlene Ravich (sister) & Grandchildren Noah, Parker, Joseph, Paige, Vivian and Jett.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 11:00AM, Friday, August 30, 2024 at 525 111th Ave N., Naples, FL 34108. Arrangements are by Hodges Funeral Home. Lite lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Fanconi Cancer Foundation and/or the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
