Kathy was born in Detroit, MI to Ed and Wilma Bielski on 12/6/1946. She grew up in Dearborn, MI.
She graduated from Dearborn High School in 1964 and attended University of Michigan, Dearborn campus.
She married Gary E Dace on 1/8/1982 in Plymouth, MI.
She worked for 10 years as an executive secretary at Alexander Hamilton Life Insurance Company of Farmington Hills, MI.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Wilma Bielski and her daughter Kerry Granger.
Kathy is survived by husband Gary E Dace, children Ryan Dace of Franklin, TN, Lauren Dace of Bonita Springs, FL, and step sons Greg Dace of Ames, IA and Rob Dace of Commerce Township, MI. She has a brother Greg Bielski of New Smyrna Beach, FL. She has grandchildren Garrett Dace, Jordan Dace and Parker Gerdel. She also has numerous nephews in Michigan and Florida.
Kathy had excellent eye hand coordination. As a child she played all sports with her older brother and his friends, even street hockey as the goalie. Her true love was tennis. She practiced daily hitting balls off the school wall or the garage door. At age 14 she won the female singles title at a very competitive Detroit tournament. She played singles, doubles and mixed doubles throughout her life. She at one time had a 4.0 USTA ranking. She played hard and hated to lose but was a good sport either way.
Kathy was in the PTA for all the years Ryan and Lauren grew up. Attended all their school and sporting events even the travel soccer leagues. A very involved parent/mother.
Kathy will be buried in a mausoleum at the Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens.
She will be dearly missed.
