On Saturday, October 9th the Lord called John G. Ebert III, Diane’s knight in shining armor, home to join His army. John had a strong faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of The Naples Gathering church. Although he is now absent from the body, he is present with the Lord.
John was born September 20, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During the past several years, he fought a very difficult, yet incredibly courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elenora Ebert. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one and half years, Diane; his two children, John (Patty) Ebert IV and Brett (Anita) Ebert; five grandchildren, John (Jennifer) Ebert V, Amanda Ebert, Rachel (Josh Pederson) Ebert, Ethan Ebert and Blake Ebert; and one great grandchild, Emma Ebert.
John began his career as an airline pilot with North Central Airlines in 1968. He continued with Republic Airlines and finished his thirty-three and half year career as a pilot for Northwest Airlines. Over the years, he enjoyed general aviation flying, boating and golf. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Private interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, November 13th at Olde Cypress Country Club, 7165 Treeline Drive, Naples, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Naples Gathering church, the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
