Janet A. VanderHorst, age 87, passed away peacefully Thursday June 21, 2018 surrounded by her seven loving children: Terry, Rick, Linda, Vicki, Diane, Jerry, Steve and their spouses. Janet also has 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She joins her loving husband, Jerry, who preceded her in death, her parents, Albert and Hilda Rammel.
Janet leaves a legacy of philanthropy. The VanderHorst Foundation, Robert Tobin Foundation, VanderHorst Penn Global Scholarship and Janet’s beloved Jerry & Janet’s House which provides permanent supportive housing for the mentally ill in Southwest Florida have changed lives and reflects Janet’s strong Christian beliefs.
A small family service will precede a celebration of Janet’s life in her beloved Ohio next spring. She will be missed but certainly not forgotten.
