Jim left the banking industry in 1983 to pursue other opportunities and later opened a feed and pet supply store business, Naples Feed and Seed.
Jim was a long time member of First Baptist Church Naples, who until his health prevented him, loved to travel to Brazil on mission trips to help build churches. His wife Barbara often traveled with him to lead backyard vacation Bible schools. Together they could always be counted upon to share the love of Jesus to others.
