Ellen Dobbie Full

Born in New York City, she later moved to Scarsdale, New York. She was educated at Scarsdale High School and Mount Holyoke College. Married early to Ronald Sutherland Smith, she held several jobs, raised 5 children and ended up owning Lords Valley Travelers. She served as a paramedic in Lords Valley, Pa. Her husband died suddenly at 53. Two years later she married John MacDermott who died in 1987. She was very fortunate to meet and marry her present husband Robert R. Full in 1998. They live at The Terraces in Bonita Springs.

She was a member of the DAR in the 70's. It was her great joy to share her heritage stories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of her daughters was Regent of her DAR branch here in Florida. Ellen was Junior Membership Chair of the Naples DAR. She served as Regent of Henry Samson Colony of the Mayflower Society in Fort Myers.

Formed and served as President of Springhouse Farms Civic Assn, Allentown Pa to get streetlights for community

Charter member of Optimist Club of Emmaus Pa

Eastern Admissions representative for Mount Holyoke College, 2 years Lords Valley Country Club Board, President for 2 years.

Formed Rotary Club Of Hemlock Farms, served as President 2 years Board of Directors of Hemlock Farms Civic Assn, Treasurer

Taught English as a Second Language 5 years in Naples, Fl President and other jobs for 9 Holers at Imperial Golf Club, Naples

She was the loving mother to Joanne Thurlow Mulinare (Anthony), Maitland FL; Ronald Sutherland Smith (Julia), Houston Texas; Donald deForest Smith, Miami FL; Jacquelyn Louise Dorsett (Jeffrey) Round Rock, Texas; and Kenneth Edward Smith (Mayra) Allentown Pa., her three stepsons Robert Full Jr., Latta, SC; William Full (Cindy), Edmund, OK; James Full (Karen), and 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
