Born on Christmas day in Wheeling IL, she also lived in Atlanta, GA, Tate Mtn. Estates, GA and Cincinnati, OH before moving to Naples with her husband Richard Hill and two oldest daughters in 1954.
In Naples they established The Hilhouse Co, selling new/used furniture, Army/Navy surplus and Richard furthered the business as a Mayflower moving and storage agent.
Edith was a loving and hardworking mother and a dear friend to all who knew her. She loved boating, her island time on Keewaydin, entertaining friends and family, golfing and telling award-winning jokes.
Edith and her late husband, Jim Currie spent years on many adventures around the world. Their final years were spent happily at Bentley Village where they were very well cared for.
Edith is survived by 3 loving daughters, Elizabeth Greene, Deborah Hill and Janet Averett (Stewart). She is Grand Dee Dee to 6 grandchildren, Emily Coates, Bill Bryan, Jessica Lynch, Natalie Hogan, Ryan Collum and Katy Collum, 6 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Evan, Kathryn, Mason, Marin and Avery and great great grandchild Karley. She is also survived by Marcia Currie and husband Dale.
Edith chose cremation. Her memorial will be a family only gathering. Thank you to all who have known and loved her through the years.
