Doris was born in Okeechobee, FL on September 9, 1928. She moved to Fort Myers to begin 11th grade High School. (Upon graduation, she attended Edison Business College). While being married to Thomas J. McIntosh, Sr. she earned her cosmetology license.
In 1964 she moved to Naples with second husband, Marion L. Ashley. Together, they owned a John Deere Lawn & Garden Dealership for 21 years.
She was a member of East Naples Baptist Church, Society of Florida Pioneers, Daughters of the American Revolution and Mayflower Society.
Preceding her in death was husband, Marion (Peanut) L. Ashley, son, Thomas J. McIntosh, Jr., mother, Bessie L. Albritton, step father, Alfred Albritton, father, John F. Thomas, step mother, Lilla Mae Thomas, sister, Betty Mae Millican, cousin, Margaret (Peggy) Martin, grandfather, Charles Chandler, grandmother, Ida E. Chandler, great grandfather, Noel A. Raulerson, great grandmother, Amanda Raulerson, and special friend, Bradford E. (Pop) Steinmann.
Survivors include nephews of Fort Myers, William (Butch) Millican (Sue), Michael (Mike) Millican (Pam), from Gainesville, Fl, Jimmy (Jim) Millican (Cynthia), from Moultrie, GA, John Millican (Lucy). Also brother-in-law William (Bill) Millican (Mary) of Fort Myers. Adopted in heart are Ronnie F. Stewart (Daneille), Loretta Rose (Leroy) of Naples, Joan Kersten (Jack) of Mulberry, FL, cousin, David Chandler and many great nephews & nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be held on March 17th, 2025 at 2:00 with a service at 2:30 at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens. Fellowship following for all at Hodges Funeral Home.
