He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and a US Army Veteran who served during WWII. He married Doris DelVecchio on February 3rd, 1947 at St. John the Baptist Church in Rome, NY. Donald was a retiree from Griffiss Air Force Base.
He enjoyed many things, including fishing, golfing, and politics, but most of all he enjoyed and loved his family. The “Holiday times” were his favorite; helping to cook and prepare along with a nice glass of red, a “dark one” as he would call it. We love him very much and know that he will always be with us.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, and his four children; sons Donald J. and Barbara (Volk) Page with her daughter Courtney Sobrado and his children Stephen Page and Kellie Page (John) Dullaghan with Palma Consiglio Page; Christopher R. Page and Jessica (McNeely) Page and their children Zachary and Tyler Page; daughters Gail Page (James) Pemberton with children Jaime Pemberton (Jessie) Loomis, Janna Pemberton, and daughter Sherry Page with grand dog Maggie; along with eight great grandchildren; John Christopher and Connor Dullaghan, Jesse and Page Loomis, Zachary, Ethan and Avery Page, and Camden Osborne.
He was predeceased by his sister Rosemary (Howard) Lawrence and brother Richard (Ginny) Page.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 14th at St. John the Baptist Church located at 210 East Dominick Street, Rome, NY 13440 from 10-11am, followed by a catholic mass at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to any hospice or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
