Don Littman was born on June 3, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His parents were Carl H. Littman and Florence Jach Littman. Don grew up surrounded by many members of his mother’s family. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Littman and stepson, Fred Skaggs, cousins, Judie Draeger, Tom Kriger and Bill Traxel.
In 1948, Don’s father was transferred to Omaha, Nebraska where Don completed his education at Creighton Prep. His favorite teacher, Father Gene, was a lifelong friend with whom Don corresponded. Upon graduation in 1952, he attended the University of Omaha. Thus began his education that spanned seven universities over the next 20 years. He graduated from Wright State University in 1974.
Don enlisted in the United States Air Force in November, 1954. He served as an enlisted man and then was accepted to flight training. He earned his wings and served as a navigator on KC97 tankers. In 1963, he transferred to the Ohio Air National Guard and completed 29 years of service flying in KC135’s and standing alert once a month in the “mole hole”.
