He was born on February 12, 1927 in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico the son of Alejandrina and Secundino Hernandez-Flores.
Prior to retiring in Naples in 1989 he lived and raised his family in Nanuet, New York from 1975-1993. He was a New York City Taxi Driver and Diamond Cutter in the New York City Diamond District for Harry Winston for 22 years. He also worked for MTA as a train conductor part-time. He honorably served in the Army as a 1st Sgt in the Korean Was also as a Merchant Marine.
He loved his New York Yankees, loved working in his gardens in New York and Florida gardening fruits and vegetables. During his youth, David was part of a quartet playing guitar. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne cowboy films.
David is survived by his wife, Aida H. Flores; children: Awilda Hernandez, Geanny San Andres, Hector Leguillow, Anthony, Alex, John, Michael Quinones and Katherine Weinberg; Grandchildren: Austin and Ariana Weinberg, Abraham Schiffman, John, Christine, Victoria Quinones, Alex Quinones Jr, Annie Quinones, Antoinette Siegal, Kerri Lumdsdem, Iris Rivera; and many loving great-grandchildren.
A visitation for David will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hodges Funeral Home At Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida 34108, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM.
