Dale Edward Chlumsky

Dale attended school in Naples but graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, FL. where he was captain of the rifle team. Dale went on to the University of Miami (Florida) where he studied finance and economics and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. While in college, Dale’s family moved from their home next to the pier to a new home on the beach on Gordon Drive. Next door, Dale met his bride to be, Kathy Kerckhoff of St. Louis, MO. After their marriage in 1964, they moved to Coconut Grove and Dale continued to study in Miami and graduated with a B.B.A. degree in 1965.

After graduation, Dale went to work for Ad Miller Associates, Inc., Realtors where he learned the skills of the real estate profession. Dale has been a broker since 1966. With the help of the, then, two local banks, he began building commercial buildings for himself in Naples.

In 1973, Dale moved to Vienna, Austria with his family where he studied and traveled Europe. When he returned to Naples, he continued building his company, Daky, LLC, operating as a private investor, class-A general contractor and real estate broker. He had a love of nature and enjoyed working outdoors at his ranch Hasenhof. His favorite hobby and sport were engaging in the variety of manual labor that running a ranch requires. He was never happier than sitting on his John Deere tractor cutting the fields. Physical work was his sport. Work was play to him.

Dale was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Naples and a member of the Port Royal Club. He was a past director of the YMCA and an early member of the Naples Historical Society.

Dale was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years, Katherine Kerckhoff Chlumsky, his 4th son Anthony Chlumsky, his father Edward J. Chlumsky and his mother, Patricia J. (Val) Chlumsky. He is survived by his children, Dale, Jr. (Joanna) with children Daniel and Katie, Nicholas Chlumsky (Lisa) with their children Alexandra, Nicholas and Lauren, his son Christopher Chlumsky, his son Conrad Chlumsky (Kari Jo), and his sister Pat (Paul) Stevens and their children Paul, Jr. (Alicia) and Peter. Dale is also survived by his present wife, Mary Ann Simms and her daughters, Patricia Somara, Carrie Simms, Kelly Gilbert, and Katie Patterson(Greg).

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Naples located at 250 6th Street South, Naples, FL 34102 on Saturday 02/01/2025 at 10:00 a.m.
