He is survived by the love of his life and wife of nearly 50 years, Mary Jane Frame, their three children: Scott (Emily) Frame, Katy, TX, Sheri (Tom) Dale, Roanoke, VA, and Sarah Frame, Roanoke, VA. He adored his grandchildren, Becky Gregory, Pittsburgh, PA, Emily Gregory, Estero, FL, and Daniel & Jacob Frame, Katy, TX. He also leaves behind a brother, John Frame, CA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Charlie was born July 6, 1939, to his beloved late parents, Ross and Florence Frame, Crown Point, IN. He is preceded in death by his sister, Betty (Dick) Lee.
Charlie graduated from Purdue University where he was very active with the Purdue Band. He enjoyed orchestrating the travel and entertainment to US military bases both in USA and Europe. Later Charlie completed his Masters degree in Human Resources at St. Francis University. He then enjoyed serving as an adjunct assistant professor in the evenings teaching Master’s level Human Resource to professionals.
Charlie worked at United States Steel Corporation where he lead Human Resources for most of his 37 year career. His family had a long history working at United States Steel which spanned 99 years beginning with his grandfather, Charles Frame, followed by his father, Ross Frame and uncle, John Frame.
Charlie honorably served on the President’s Committee (George H.W. Bush) for the Employment of People with Disabilities. He was a compassionate advocate for people with disabilities and always sought to make a more welcoming environment for everyone.
Upon retirement, Charlie and his wife, Jane, moved to Naples, FL where the Lord opened many opportunities for Kingdom service. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church Naples and active on its Personnel Committee. Charlie also served on the leadership committee with the men’s fellowship at The Club at Mediterra. It brought Charlie great joy to serves others, whether it was working detailed personnel issues or helping a neighbor in need.
A Celebration of Life to honor the memory of Charlie Frame will take place, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 10 AM, in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Naples, 3000 Orange Blossom Dr. There will be a time for the family to receive friends and family following the service; lite refreshments will be served. Afterwards, there will be a private family burial at Naples Memorial Gardens.
