Charlene Mae Wieland (née Schrock) Anderson passed away on February 6, 2023, in Naples, FL, after a two-day illness. She was born on January 9, 1928, in Cissna Park, Illinois, and lived a full and healthy life until her death at age 95.
Charlene was married to Richard James Schrock on August 1, 1948, until his death November 7, 1997.
She was then married to Jack G. Anderson, on January 7, 2000 and remained married until her passing. She had three daughters with whom she was very close: Janelle Schrock Fights (Konnie Fights), Joanne Schrock Wheeler (Donald Wheeler) and Jennifer Schrock Medlin (Steven Medlin).
Charlene also dearly loved her three grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer Fights) Brianne (Adam) Bussell, and Matt (Anna) Medlin and had four great grandchildren, Cooper and Scout Fights and Adalynn and Lilia Bussell. Charlene also had four step children and thirteen step grandchildren.
Charlene enjoyed church activities, golf, playing bridge and other card games. She was known by everyone as one of the kindest, most loving and cheerful person they ever knew. She had a sense of humor that made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Her faith in the Lord was instilled at an early age and remained strong her entire life.
In her later years Charlene kept in close touch with her family and friends by texting and through FaceTime. In fact the day before she fell ill, she was texting her daughters as was her habit. Unusual, perhaps, for someone her age!
In the 1970s Charlene went to Chicago to take classes to learn flower arranging. She and her husband then opened a shop and she started a career as the owner of the Flower Barn in Joliet, IL, which she ran for twenty-one years.
Charlene will be deeply missed by so many loved ones.
