Carol Ann (Birch) Muller died at home on August 26, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born in Columbus, Ohio, on October 19, 1937, to Richard and Agnes (Cody) Birch. She graduated from Bexley High School, attended Ohio State University, and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She proudly drove her 1965 red Mustang to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, to start a career in the airline industry. There she met Hans Muller, the love of her life, and they were married on March 28, 1973. Together they travelled the world and had many amazing adventures until Hans passed away on May 12, 2018. While Hans pursued his goals of becoming an international pilot, Carol immersed herself to service in state government. She eventually served as top aide to the Honorable Mary Ellen Hawkins, State Representative to the Florida House of Representatives, District 89. She then started her own business, Muller Tack and Tog Shoppe, in Naples, Florida, providing quality horse equipment and gear to the equestrian community for over twenty years. Following her retirement, Carol and Hans were committed volunteers at the Naples Therapeutic Riding Center. With her love of long conversations, skill as a great listener, and devotion to friends and family, she was most loved by all who knew her.
Special thanks to all at Avow Hospice who provided such comfort and care to Carol during her final days.
She is survived by her seven nieces and nephews who adored her, Joan (Jerry) Grinkmeyer, Joyce (Mike) Boran, Casey (Melissa) Noonan, Christy (George) Adjieff, Lucy (Lou) Ninios, Patrick Noonan, and Carolyn (Scott) Recknor; and beloved great-nieces and nephew, Lauren Adjieff, Demetri Ninios, Madeleine Noonan, and Chloe Recknor . Her dear cats, Raisin and Sugar, will miss her desperately, and that one-owner ’65 Mustang, still in her garage, will be waiting for one more ride with the top down.
A Mass will be held at St. William Catholic Church, 601 Seagate Drive, Naples, FL, on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 10 a.m.
