Bruce Barone was born on April 29, 1949, in Queens, New York. Bruce had a lifelong passion for knowledge and attended Christ the King Catholic High School, then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Queens College and an MBA from Columbia University. He was a highly accomplished CPA and a member of the AICPA societies in New York, Connecticut, and Florida. Throughout his distinguished career, Bruce held notable positions including the President & CEO of Overseas Partners Ltd. and Vice President of Finance at United Parcel Service. Under his leadership, both organizations experienced unprecedented success and established significant real estate holdings. In 1999, Bruce started his own private consulting firm, where he continued to provide exceptional expertise in strategy, planning, acquisitions, and finance. His valuable guidance was sought after by a select group of companies, allowing them to thrive and achieve their business goals.
However, Bruce's impact extended far beyond his professional achievements. He was a shining example of faith and philanthropy, devoting himself to his community. Bruce held key leadership roles in various organizations, including President of Pi Lambda Phi; President of the Naples, Florida chapter of Legatus; Regional Director, former District Deputy, and Past Grand Knight of the Saint William Catholic Church Order of Knights of Columbus; and a Knight in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Bruce demonstrated unwavering commitment to his community. His dedication saw him support numerous charitable organizations, such as St. William Catholic Church, Sisters of Notre Dame, Community School of Naples, Starability, and St. Ann School among many others. Bruce exemplified his desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Above all else, Bruce was a devoted husband to his soulmate, Nancy, whom he cherished for 45 years. Their love story was an unstoppable force, bringing out the best in each other. As a father and grandfather, Bruce found immeasurable joy, always placing his family at the forefront. Bruce was a constant source of unconditional love and laughter, and served his family as a trusted confidant and mentor, always offering them his guidance.
Bruce leaves behind his loving wife Nancy (Rossiter) Barone; their children, Bruce Barone Jr. (Lauren), Samantha Bloom (Jim), and Mary-Meghan Fisher (Daniel); and his beloved grandchildren, Cassidy, Maille, Brucie III, Nancy, Henry, Charles, Thomas, and Nicholas, and his English bulldogs Teddy and Trudy. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Joseph James and Beulah (Blume) Barone, his brother Patrick Barone, and many cherished pets.
Bruce's radiant spirit will continue to live on in our hearts. We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating his life at the funeral mass on Friday, January 26, 10:30 AM at St. William Catholic Church in Naples, Florida.
