Anthony (Tony) William White, 92 of Naples,FL, formerly of Greenwich, CT. died peacefully on Saturday June 29th. He was the loving husband of Kathleen B. White. He is survived by his wife of 52 years and his 2 sons, Joshua and Jason, their wives Marisa and Jessica, and Tony's seven grandchildren: Avery, Chaysen, Kendall, Killian, Harper, Hudson and Presley.
Born August 15,1931, Tony grew up in Manhasset (Munsey Park), LI, NY. He earned a BA from Hofstra University and an MBA in International Marketing from Fordham University. He served honorably in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He met his wife, the former Kathleen B. Priel in Boston and they were married in Elizabeth, NJ on January 8,1972.
Tony spent a highly successful 53 years in the sales divisions of multiple packaging businesses, starting at Continental Can Company and later on working at Weyerhauser and PCA. He was an avid skier and accomplished golfer, competing in many amateur golf tournaments playing out of two golf clubs on Long Island, Bellport Country Club in Bellport and Indian Hills in Fort Salonga. Tony was the number one player for Hofstra during his four years where Bethpage Black was the home course. His business career centered in or around New York City where the married couple resided at Lincoln Center and later moved to their long term residence in Greenwich where they maintained a golf membership at the Milbrook Club. Tony also represented District 9 in Greenwich on the Representative Town Meeting and Budget Overview Committee, and was a member of the Executive Board of Directors at the Milbrook Club.
Year round warm weather eventually induced Tony and Kathleen to move permanently to Stonebridge in Naples, FL. Tony often spoke of his good fortune "of having a good looking wife, two terrific sons and their families, seven treasured young grandchildren, great relations with all his business associates and very close friends that collectively gave him enormous pleasure".
