Amy Bright Mitchell was born July 4, 1930 in Greenville, FL to the late Eli and Julia Bright. She met and married Ulysses Mitchell Sr. (deceased) and to this union they had eight children. Four boys and four girls. Three of her children preceded her in death. Albert P. Mitchell, Altamease Jennings, and Lieutenant Walter Roy Mitchell. Amy was a devoted wife and loving mother who adored her children and had a special bond with each of them. (We affectionately called her Ms. Amy.) She accepted the Lord early in life. Her favorite scripture was Joshua 24:15 "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord" She was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church and a former member of the choir. Amy was employed and retired from Collier Count School Board. She also did work as a seamstress for her children and community. She lived a quiet life and had a gentle spirit which is of great worth in God's sight. She leaves to lament her passing children...
