Bud was committed in faith, dutiful to his family and country, a mentor to his staff, and diverse in his interests.
Bud actively served in eight churches, two Christian colleges, the Christian Benevolent Association, and on global mission trips. He epitomized servant leadership.
As a husband of 55 years, father of three and grandfather of four, Bud was adored for his huge heart, quick wit, and boundless energy. He taught us the power of perseverance.
As an Air Force Veteran, Bud served as an M.P. in Germany during the Berlin Wall Crisis.
Bud served as executive officer of Cincinnati Board of Realtors, Cleveland Area Board of Realtors, Ohio Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors.
Throughout his 30 year career with the Realtors, Bud not only evolved organizations, he developed his team members. He nurtured the potential in each individual.
His curiosity and enthusiasm created a lifetime of adventures: Gardening, running, skiing, horseback riding, wilderness backpacking, RVing, boating, world traveling, fishing, golfing, playing softball, glider piloting, and shinnying with the Chicago Blackhawks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, June Swanson; and his son, Kerry Smith.
