He will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Frances, his daughter Kristin (Ken), grandchildren Ava, Kiana and Easton Barlow. Also, Kurtis Barlow who he loved like a son.
Tom is also survived by his chosen family, Lynn and Gary Green, Bill Fulton, Ron Schmidt and Karen Roth among many other friends that he made during his 52 years in the logging industry.
At age 67, Tom started his own company “Fat Truck Hauling Inc”, continuing his career behind the wheel of off highway logging trucks (Fat Trucks) as a contract driver. He enjoyed family get togethers, car club events and his two Jack Russells. He loved to make people laugh and was happiest behind the wheel of a logging truck, his ‘66 Acadian Canso or surrounded by family and friends. Tom was predeceased by his Mom Kae, Dad Bill, Brother Rob and nephew Kyle.
Those who wish to do so may make memorial donations to either to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
A special thanks to Dr. Julia Hickey Somerville, Dr. Bronn, Dr. Wells, Dr. Booth, Dr. Jenkin, Dr. Lai as well as the ICU medical staff, especially Michael.
A celebration of life with be held at The Bayside Oceanfront Resort (Parksville) in the Court Room on Saturday November 16th at 1pm for family and friends.
