Michael Warren Lobay born May 8th 1984. Mike passed away July 18th 2023.
Mike was a beautiful spirit who could light up a room with his smile and laughter.
He was a good athlete in his younger days playing hockey and rugby. He attended school in Nanaimo, Shawnigan Lake and graduated from BCIT in Architectural Drafting. From a young child, drawing came naturally to him.
Mike was the proud father of his son, Kaden and loved him, his mother Brittany and grandmother, Janice Champagne. Mike is survived by his brother, Cameron and sister Jennifer ( Dayne) both of whom he loved and respected.
He was deeply involved in the Recovery community and supported and helped many along the way. Mike was one of those rare individuals who would give the shirt off his back to someone in more need than him.
He was a kind soul and will be especially missed by his extended family in Edmonton, Vancouver and his grandmother (Dianne West) in Abbotsford. His mother and father, David and Gayle are thankful to have had Mike in their lives and will miss him desperately.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00PM in the Nanaimo Marantha Foursquare Gospel Church, 6553 Portsmouth Road, Nanaimo. In lieu of flowers, if desired please make donations to Loaves & Fishes Food Bank, 210 Fry St. Nanaimo, BC V9R 4Z1
