Marina Jacqueline Rogers

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mum/sister/nana “Marina Jacqueline Rogers” on Monday October 16th, 2023. Marina passed away peacefully at NRGH after a short illness with her family by her side.

Marina was born in Essex, England on August 29th, 1938. Went to school in Buckhurst Hill and Leigh on Sea, in Essex. After meeting her husband John, they were married in 1962, had son Martin in 1963, followed by Darren in 1967. Immigrated to Canada in 1968 and daughter Coral was born in 1970. Worked at Malaspina Hotel in early 70’s as a server followed by working at Simpson Sears in the Catalogue and parts and service departments until her retirement in 2003.

Predeceased by Husband John in 2005. She is survived by her children, sons, Martin (Cynthia), Darren (Kim), daughter, Coral (Brent) and grandchildren, Sarah, McKayla, Jacob, Sydney, Nicole, and Hayden. Her sister, Pat, brother-in-law, Barrie (Lorie) and extended family and friends in Canada and the UK.

A celebration of life will be held at the First Memorial Funeral Home, Nanaimo BC on Saturday November 18th, from 2-5pm.
