It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Leslie Charles Chase, age 67. He passed away peacefully May 22, 2017 with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with the return of a rare cancer. Lea is survived by his loving wife Val and his 3 children....Cody (Jen), Becky (Jason) and Lesley (John). Also his 7 grandchildren (Cole, Owen, Reid, Kayla, Jeremy, Linda and Tiffany) and his Mom Laura,
sister Marie (Jim), his brothers Ray (Shirley) and Eldon and sister-in-law Sheryle. He is predeceased by his father (Forrest), his brothers (Harold and Marty) and his sister (Velma).
Les was born and raised in Kelowna where he helped out his father with his Champion Appaloosa horses. He worked for many year for his father's Disposal Company and Cenoka Disposals after his father sold the company. He then worked on several pipelines across Canada. Later his career switched to construction at which time he worked on the Island Highway Bypass and then onto construction of gas plants in Western Canada. During hard times in his career his willingness to never give up gave his family great pride in who he was as a man. His jobs took him and his family to many places across Canada with his final home being in Nanaimo, B.C.
Les was a hard working man who took great satisfaction in working with his hands and always had projects on the go which often turned into more projects. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing and liked nothing more than to spend the day golfing with his grandchildren. Last year he bought a boat to fix up to go fishing in with the family. He loved to travel to his vacation home in San Felipe, Baja Mexico and hoped to travel to other places upon retirement. Les was always a charismatic man, loved by all (especially the ladies) drawn to his long winded stories and conversations. A trait he passed on to his kids!!!! He will be sorely missed.
