It is with great sadness the family of Larry Shawn Miller announces his passing on Sunday, August 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those around him. Larry was born July 29, 1964, in Prince Albert, SK to Howard and Viola Miller. He will be forever remembered and missed by the love of his life Sherry Romuld, his mother Viola Miller, sisters Joan Kleinsteuber, Judy Michaud (Mich), Cheryl Neurauter, Brother Leroy Miller, cherished nieces and nephews Christine (Rob), Jennifer, Danielle (Luke), Melissa, Robin (Dennis), Tawnie, Sara (Lance), Shawn, and Howard, Austin, Christian, and Ashtyn. He was predeceased by his father and nephew Jayden.
Larry was raised in Prince George, BC, before moving to Vancouver Island, where he eventually settled in Port Alberni. Throughout his career in the logging industry, Larry was known for his hard work and dedication. As a skilled feller buncher operator, he approached each task with precision and an unwavering work ethic.
Larry’s life was also marked by his immense kindness and generosity. He had a huge heart and was always ready to lend a hand, whether it was giving his last penny to help a friend or preparing a hearty meal for neighbors and family. He found joy and solace in fishing, whether on lakes or in the ocean, and he often shared his catch with those around him.
He will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the First Memorial, 1720 Bowen Rd, Nanaimo, BC.
