Kelly was born on October 10th 1974, to Stanley and Pam Wood in Nanaimo, British Columbia. He is survived by his parents, Pam and Stan, his brother Todd, Jennifer, the mother of his three children, Aidan, Lexi and Torren, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kelly graduated in 1993 from Woodlands Secondary School, Nanaimo, BC, where he excelled at volleyball, basketball and rugby, and socializing, a little more than at academics.
Kelly followed his father into the trucking business, first learning the ropes and working for Stan. Eventually Kelly pursued opportunities out of the province, continuing to drive truck and operate heavy machinery, and settled in Lloydminster, AB, with his family.
Kelly was a fun loving guy, known for his strong work ethic, quick wit and "unique" sense of humor,
remembered fondly at times as shocking to some. He loved his children dearly and time spent with them and was proud to see each grow and excel in their own rights.
His departure came as a great shock, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and others who loved him deeply.
A celebration of life will be held at First Memorial, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, BC, at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 24th
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation be made to a favorite charity in Kelly's honor.
