Alan was born on July 28, 1933, in Nanaimo where he lived his entire life. He went to work on the Tugboats while starting his family, then went on to work driving trucks and from there to working at Harmac as an Oiler until he retired in 1995. He was a very well-liked man with a kind, gentle soul and a great sense of humour. He enjoyed Curling, Golfing and playing Crib. His passion in life was riding his motorcycle, he owned motorbikes for the majority of his life, riding his until he was 80 years old. His lifetime highlight was going with his buddy to Sturgis when he was 78 years old. Alan leaves behind his three daughters, Teresa Jarvie, Colleen (Doug) Gale, Denise (Dan) Langill, grandchildren Carly, Alan, Casey, Nikki, AJ, Barby, Jenna, and Brianna and numerous great-grandchildren. He was a very big presence in our family to all and will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
